We all agreed this was one of the most fun things we have ever done. I was a little nervous about operating a Segway, but the training was excellent and I felt like a pro by the end of the training. Not only was operating the Segway a fun thing in itself, but we were able to see parts of Golden Gate Park that we would have never seen on foot. Our tour guide was great. She was upbeat, lots of fun, and had a nice voice to listen to while plugged in on the tour. We were a small group of 4 so it was like a private tour although we didn't know the other party of 2. The tour provided an alternative way to explore the grand GG park in a leisurely, comfortable, and fun fashion. Living in the area, I've seen the city Segways and always considered it a bit 'hokey' but the experience is anything but...Segways are tons of fun and they did a great job to ensure everybody's comfort level with good introduction and training classes. The best of this tour is the experience on the segway. Even the Golden Gate park being amazing, it is just a park and there's not much diferent subjects too see in 3h, so I bet the Fisherman's Wharf is a better experience for tourists...

Fun & friendly staff, safety is put first but not dragged out so your on your way in no time. The segways are a real breeze to use & just the thing you need to explore the golden gate park as its so vast you'd need three times as long to cover the same ground, couple this with the excellent info from the guide and you wind up back at base grinning from the fun ride ! I highly recommend this trip

We chose a clear weekday afternoon for the tour. There are fewer visitors and cars in Golden Gate Park on weekdays. Dane our tour guide made sure we were completely trained and capable of navigating through the park on a Segway. He had a great sense of humor and gave an interesting account of the park's history which made us appreciate the park even more. If your friend or relative ever mentions, "I wonder what it's like to be on a Segway, then this is a fun birthday gift to give that you can both enjoy together.

Ten miles an hour, gliding along, me and my Segway, through Golden Gate Park on a sunny/foggy morning. It doesn't take a great deal of coordination to operate a Segway. It doesn't really matter how old you are - we are in our 50's and beleive that as long as you can walk unassisted you can tour on a segway. We had a great time. The park is too large to tour on foot and we received a great overview and were able to look at sections that we had never received before. We live in the E Bay and still consider ourselves tourists.

I took the golden gate park tour and we had a blast. The staff were all exceedingly friendly and patient and made us feel welcome (instead of just regular customers...) this is an integral part of the appeal of your tour and So far after taking the tours 3 times (twice at fisherman's wharf and once at golden gate park) I'd say that you are maintaining it. Do keep it up and choose future staff wisely. Something as simple as seeing the staff smile all the time and enjoying their job just fills the group with enthusiasm.

I wasn't expecting much when I received a voucher (as a gift from a friend) for a Segway tour through Golden Gate Park - I just imagined myself looking like a dork as I rolled through the park in a line like a little baby duck following its mama. As it turned out, I did probably look like a dork, and did follow like a baby duck, but I also had one of the best afternoon in Golden Gate Park - ever. The tour was a unique experience and a fun way to get around while learning about the park's history. I would definitely do another tour (in a different part of the city) again and would recommend it to anyone considering to go.

Using the segways was very fun. It was an aquired skill but the training was excellent. They had extra jackets for us to keep warm and the staff was fun and thoughtful. Dispite safety warnings it was hard for me to not to get a little frisky on my segway. Fortunately I did not injure myself but had a close call. It is easy to lose control if you are being silly on a segway. I recommend following their safety warnings. All together it was an excellent experience. I will happily do it again some time.

It is wonderful that the park lets you use the segways in the park. We would not have seen it otherwise. Our guide was very conscience of the other park dwellers and concerned for our safety. The tour itself was magnificent. I do wish at times we could have spent more time looking at the flowers and trees rather than whizzing by them, but we were on segways so I guess it was appropriate. And the segways themselves were a blast and easy to operate. Overall it was a good tour and I would definitly recommend it to anyone.

There were 4 of us in our group (in our 50s and 60s), and none had used Segways before. What was surprising was how quickly we became proficient and comfortable on them. Derrin was our tour guide. He had a one-way radio to speak to a receiver we all wore. He told us a lot of interesting things during the two hours that we traversed the park and its wonders. He told bad jokes and puns to entertain and inform us. We learned that '1906' is the universal history answer to any San Francisco question of when something was built. Chelsea (from Minnesota) was our trail person who took very, very nice photos of our group while riding past her.

I did the Segway Tour of Golden Gate Park. My guide, Devin was really great, funny and relaxed with lots of good information. A great way to see the park because it is huge and learning to ride a segway was pretty easy and the experience of driving one around the park was really cool! It makes you wish you had a segway everytime you are climbing up a San Francisco hill!

This is more aimed at the tour operators, but really it's a full review of what I experience. Honestly, I was afraid of how I'd feel on a Segway. They're a brilliant invention, but no matter how many times I remind myself of that, I still think people riding them look like pricks. Now I don't typically look for ways to make myself look like/be more of a prick, but I sometimes stumble upon these methods, and so I found myself riding a Segway through Golden Gate Park last Saturday. I'll start off by saying that the training was done extremely well. The Segway is hardly a dangerous vehicle, but I'm glad everyone was given time to get used to the machines before taking off. Even after some very clear instructions, I noticed there were still people who would speed ahead (you can't stop speed demons...but perhaps they should look for machines more adventurous than a Segway?) and people who would stop on hills. Even though there were these little bumps, I place no blame on the tour operators. Rather, I would like to say thanks for their guidance, we were guided well and we had almost no problems. We started and at the beginning I had trouble hearing our tour leader. Being the farthest from the front, I assumed it was the distance causing the buzz, but found that playing with the connection of the headphones to the machine improved it, so I found myself spending a lot of the first half of the tour readjusting my headphones. It was a real problem, but only because I can honestly say the things the tour guide was extremely interesting. On top of being well informed on the flora, he included historical information, as well as local ghost stories. I don't do tours very often because it tends to be stale, usually focusing on one of the above, which gets somewhat tiring. It hardly felt like a history or biology lecture, it was just interesting facts about where we were. Total kudos to Cody. Rock on dude. In the second half of the tour I was finally informed that it was not the radio, nor the headphone's fault that I was getting so much static, but rather a giant tower in the middle of the park. The only advice I could give other than getting better/different radios is to just explain it from the beginning. Rather than spend a lot of my time trying to readjust the headphones, I could have been focusing on the park or trying to get closer. Though once or twice, fidgeting with the headphones did help, so...if you find that helps, encourage that behavior? The second half of the tour was just as interesting as the first, and twice as clear. I really enjoyed it and I have to say, by the end, rather than thinking, "I feel like a lazy prick," I realized walking the distance we rode would have been awful, and while listening to the tour, I completely forgot to feel like a prick. Score! Anyway, it was a great time and I'd totally suggest this to someone else. I did in fact - also everyone I've met since I did it. Keep on rockin' TourCorp.

Devin was the best guide. He was always looking at the upside to every situation and helping that guest through their thing. The tour consists of the east side of the park, which is where the bulk of the interesting stuff is anyway. The segways are easier to navigate than you might think and the radio headsets keep you informed whether you are at the front or rear of the group as the guide speaks.

I have done 2 Segway tours in Disney (which I loved) and this tour was even better. We are long time Disney fans and usually never find anyone who can beat their services. However.............this tour was longer, more informative and included so much more tourist information than we had experienced in Disney. I also loved the headphones. Our tour guide (Addie sp?) was fantastic and a lot of fun!

We took the Wharf Segway Tour last year and it was much more fun than the GG Park tour. Having the 'free time' on the municiple pier near to the end of the tour was exceptional. We had so much fun going fast, going in circles and being goofy with each other. We really missed that on the GG park tour. The sound system on the GG Park tour worked fine unless you were at the end of the line. We took the last positions for the final leg of the tour and since we had no hope of hearing the guide, we had a bunch of fun being silly. The Wharf tour had no sound system issues. Both tours were on Mother's Day. I wonder why we couldn't have 'cut a bit loose' on JFK drive since it was closed to traffic.

My husband and I took by young adult daughters (ages 25 and 26) on the tour. It was one of the funnest things we have done in a while. The segways were amazing, along with the instruction and the actual tour of the park. I felt like we saw alot of the park with great narration from the guide. On a recent vacation my husband pointed out some tourists taking a Segway tour around Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco and it looked like it would really be a lot of fun. We picked up a brochure and saw that there was a tour of Golden Gate Park available and since we had already walked around the wharf quite a bit we decided to take the tour of the park. We would not have seen the park otherwise and it was definately a "must-see" attraction. Our tour guide was well informed about the park and his delivery of the material was light-hearted and fun. He was obviously enjoying his job very much and was a terrific representative of not only Segway tours but also the city of San Francisco. I would recommend this tour to others.

This is the best way to see Golden Gate Park. You don't just drive through on a bus. You get to see things and stop and look, but you get from place to place much faster than walking. The radio headsets are also a great help.

Great fun! No worries, instruction was good on how to use the Segways. Our guide was of great humor. This tour is an excellent way to see a lot of Golden Gate Park quickly - The narrative (when the malfunctioning headsets WERE working) was very interesting. But you might need TWO (not just ONE) stop to rest your aching feet! Being on a Segway is phyically a totally new experience and you use your leg and feet muscles in an entirely different way). Highly recommend it in spite of bad headsets and achey feet! It was FUN!
