Book this tour! It was fabulous! And we are not typical "tour takers". We usually strike out on our own but with only 2 days in San Francisco, wanted to be as efficient w/our time as possible. We saw the Muir Woods in the am, lunch in Sonoma and a lovely wine tour in the afternoon. Absolutely a perfect day! Could not have been happier. Great guide, great company, great experience.

Tarin W., Australia, 11-2011

My wife and I are not usually "tour group" people but we are very glad we took this trip. We got a great tour of the San Francisco area, plenty of time in gorgeous Muir Woods, and visits to 3 nice wineries. There was no wasted time, and we never felt like we were part of a tour group. It was almost like having our own personal guide and driver. This is a "can't miss" part of a visit to SF.

Adam L., United States, 10-2011

Driver/guide was excellent! Choice of wine tour stops was very good. Homewood was great!

Warren C., United States, 09-2011

If time permitted it would be nice to get a tour of one of the vineyards/wineries to learn to process of wine making from vine to bottle

Lauren P., United States, 09-2011

The only stop I thought that could be better was our 2nd wine stop. It just wasn't as nice as the other two stops. However, everyone was nice just not quite what I expected. Our guide went above and beyond what I expected.

Connie W., United States, 09-2011

We really enjoyed our tour - the Muir Woods were wonderful and our driver/guide chose some great wineries for us to visit!

Kay P., United States, 09-2011

We loved our day at Muir Woods and in Sonoma! Paul was a fantastic tour guide - fun, knowledgeable, polite, and just a blast. We were so thankful we were able to see two great tour sites in one day. Thanks for a great day!

Michelle C., United States, 08-2011

I am torn about our experience with TourCorp. Although there were several things I liked about our experience with them: hotel pick-up, small group (no larger than 12), and the destinations (Muir Woods and Sonoma Wine Country). I was dissatisfied with other items. In booking the event, there was not a phone number provided and we did not have access to our email at all times, so it made it difficult to call with questions. Our guide drove quite wildly which included quick starts and stops and taking curves at too high of a speed. The two things I found most frustrating were that the guide was still trying to contact wineries while we were enroute to set-up our tastings. In addition, the website and printed ads clearly state in BOLD letters that at least two of the wine tastings are free. This was not the case. In my opinion, an operation that runs bookings as regularly as this should have all the accomidations arranged in advance. We had four in our group, and in investigating later, we could have hired a driver/car (small limo) and could have gone at our own pace to the locations of our choosing for about the same price. Because the cost of the Muir Woods and Wine Tastings are not included, you are paying for a very expensive driver. With a full van, they are making over $1000 for the day.

jen y., United States, 07-2011

The tour guide was nice and informative. The bus was fine. However, we were not happy that the website and brochure indicated that the wine tastings were included. However, there were fees at two of the three wineries.

jen y., United States, 07-2011

Tour was decent

Victoria F., United States, 05-2011

We experienced A LOT of rain during our tour but made the best of things and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. Tour was good, enjoyed seeing Muir Woods and a number of wineries.

Michelle H., Canada, 03-2011

Really recommend John - knows his stuff

Jay D., United States, 03-2011

Tour guide made the day.. He was energetic and informative

Jason A., United States, 02-2011

Tour guide was an excellent driver and very informative.

Nelda F., United States, 08-2010

Overall, the Muir Woods/Sonoma wine country tour was very good. I enjoyed the smaller size of the group (just 9 of us in a van) and the amount of independence that we were allowed. We were encouraged to explore Muir Woods on our own and, after describing several different lunch spots in Sonoma, our guide let us choose where to have our own lunches, then we all met up afterward. I like this kind of independence on a tour, but it might not be for everyone. We stopped at 3 different wineries in the Sonoma area: Homewood, Robledo, and Jacuzzi. I loved the personalized service at Homewood, and the wines were very good as well. Robledo and Jacuzzi were really pretty, but both the wines were a bit so-so. The man helping us at our wine tasting at Jacuzzi was fun to be around. I'd rate our guide as average. She was very pleasant, but, on her own admission, not knowledgeable about wines, which can be a little tough when you are depending on her advice as to which wineries to visit. We also stopped at the Marin Headlands on the way back to the city so we could get pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge. All in all, a very good tour to get out of SF and see some of the surrounding areas.

Jen D., United States, 07-2010

Terrific Tour. Our Tour Guide was Greg. He was fantastic. When we arrived at Muir Woods, he told us that we had beaten most of the early crowd. He took us to a park map and showed us how to get to Bridge #4 to access the Overlook trail. My wife and I really enjoyed the park and could have stayed longer, but we knew in advance that only 1.5 hours were allotted so we could continue with the rest of the tour. Greg drove us through Mill Valley and then on to Sonoma Valley. While we were in Muir Woods he had called several small wineries and set up our day. We had a great picnic lunch purchased from a grocery deli at our first winery. Most of the wines that we sampled were not that appealing to my wife and I (Syrah and Shiraz), however several people made significant purchases. We did get to taste some Cabernet Sauvigon's and Chardonnay's which are more appealing to us. The chance to converse with the actual owners of the different wineries was very interesting and informative. We had a fantastic time.

Ron F., United States, 07-2010

Muir Woods and Sonoma are must-sees when going to the San Francisco area!

Tom & Alison S., United States, 05-2010

It was a very pleasurable experience...thorough and enjoyable. Mitch was our tour guide and he was fantastic!

Kevin D., United States, 05-2010

We had a very nice time. The group size was not to big and we went to three wineries that were not that crowded.

Patricia A., United States, 04-2010

Very good tour, enjoyed the whole experience

Joseph P., United States, 04-2010

We enjoyed this tour. We had a friendly guide who was concerned for our comfort and safety. He never rushed us at any activity. He answered our questions. The wineries were beautiful and the staff friendly.

Susan A., United States, 04-2010

The trip combined the best things you could ask for in a day - Muir Woods and three wine tastings, plus lunch in Sonoma. It was the right pace of activities.

Natalie B., United States, 04-2010

Tour guide was very informative and fun. Enjoyed going to the smaller, less known wineries. Tour guide got to know everyone on board and encouraged everyone to get to know each other. Muir woods was fun too. Plenty of time to stop and see each site. Very accommodating tour guide. He was great!

Cynthia W., United States, 01-2010

Our guide was very personable and he made the trip a lot more interesting with his history and tid bits of information that he had from living in the area.

Susan S., Canada, 11-2009

The redwoods are fabulous. The wine tour was more of a selling tour than an informational and sightseeing tour. Overall a good experience.

steve e., United States, 10-2009

It was a very good tour, the group was a mix of different kinds of people, all ages (except kids), the guide was really cool and they took us to some (fortunately) free wineries!

Rocio B., Mexico, 10-2009

Tour of Muir Woods and Wine tasting was excellent. Tour guide very knowledgeable. Tour van was not very comfortable. It felt like it needed new shocks. Some bumps caused back pain. Automatic door did not work properly.

Richard G., United States, 10-2009

Experience was great. Liked the smaller company wine tours instead of the larger tourist bus tours.

Carol D., United States, 10-2009

The tour guide was very knowledgeable about San Francisco and the wines. The our guide was prompt and kept us on schedule but not rushed. The guide provided good suggestions for lunch in Sonoma and selected vineyards to satisfy both the experienced and nonexperienced tasters on the tour. It was a very enjoyable day.

Barbara M., Canada, 10-2009

Excellent

Raymond A. N., United States, 09-2009

Decided on this tour package because it was doing where we wanted to see and explore! The group was small and the guide was excellent! He stopped extra places and times so we could all take pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge when the fog had lifted! It meant a lot to all on the tour because no one had gotten a good picture of it and everyone had been there several days trying to get a good look at it!

Denise M., United States, 09-2009

It was very nice. Our guide was experienced and the time we had at each place was adequate.

Catherine S., United States, 09-2009

You can't beat being picked up at your hotel on time, having a knowledgeable tour guide (and a safe driver!) spending a perfect amount of time at each location and then being taken back to your hotel at the end of a long day.

Bob K., United States, 09-2009

Our guide Mitch was sensational. He knew all our names and we all became friends for the day. We had plenty of time at each stop and lots of fun. He helped us with recommendations for lunches and dinners and I would thoroughly recommend the tour to others visiting the area.

Penelope J., Australia, 09-2009

There was a mix up in reservations so the van was more crowded than it should have been for that long a trip. Otherwise the tour was great. The guide had a good selection of wineries to visit.

Marcia M., United States, 09-2009

We had the most memorable time! I think the lay out of the tour and the order of events could not be more perfect. What made the tour even better was that the tour guide "Ernest" was perfect for the role, very knowledgeable, friendly and he introduced everyone as he picked them up so that we all got acquainted. He was the best. I would recommend my friends to make sure and try to get "Ernest" for thier tour. Thank you!! It was so great.

Chris A., United States, 09-2009

Very good.

Joan M., United States, 09-2009

Tour was great, and we thought we wanted to do Muir tour, but it was anticlimatic after Wine Country

Joyce M., United States, 08-2009

An excellent tour with an extremely informative guide!

Doris E., United States, 08-2009

A great trip if you like wine, not so great if you are really looking forward to a long hike in Muir Woods. We were only given one hour in the Muir Woods!!

Mark H., United States, 08-2009

This was my first visit to San Francisco and I wanted it to be a special time there since my 2 daughters and I were all flying into there to begin our vacation together. We did this tour the second day there and believe me, it was everything it said it was online and more. If you want to experience 2 tours in one trip, definitely do this one. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the redwoods as well as wine and the wineries we visited. We were told about some of the favorite wines made by each winery before our arrival there as well as a little history and facts about the winery. It was all superb and I highly recommend it. We couldn't have asked for better and I was really glad I signed us up for this one. There isn't a better way to spend a day than that.

Barbara J., United States, 08-2009

Had a great time.

colleen f., Canada, 07-2009

Enjoyed the wine tours. I am glad we did the wine tours in the morning and the Muir woods tour in the afternoon.

Gregory G., United States, 07-2009

Our guide tailored the itinerary to the needs of the passengers and the high volume of tourists as it was near the 4th of July weekend. We were happy to be able to combine Muir Woods and Wine country. This was the only tour I could find that did this and we were very satisfied.

Karen H., United States, 07-2009

I thought the tour was good. I orginially thought we were going to Napa Valley when I booked the tour, not sure if it was made clear that we were going to Sonoma on the website. A little disappointed that we did not go to Napa Valley.

Mike and Debbie E., United States, 06-2009

John took very good care of us!! He included a side trip to a park north and west of the Golden Gate where the views of the bay and San Francisco were spectacular!! The van was old, not well marked on the outside, and seat belt wearing was not encouraged. But John knew what he was doing and made the trip an enjoyable experience!

Joanne M., United States, 06-2009

Our guide was outstanding! Ernest delivered an awesome Sonoma Wine experience. Very knowledgeable, kind and a lot of fun. It was a good group of travelers and thanks to the guide, we had a wonderful time.

Kimberly P., United States, 06-2009

I really enjoyed the day. Each activity was the perfectly timed. It was great to not drive to be able to enjoy the wine tastings.

Laura B., United States, 05-2009

We enjoyed our day

Robert P., United States, 05-2009

I was please with the tour and would recommend it to others. We had a very nice driver and knowledgeable about the city and surrounding areas.

Ashley H., United States, 05-2009

The tour was very good and the tour guide provided a lot of information about the wineries.

Marcella S., United States, 04-2009

Tim was very knowledgable and really made our day enjoyable. He customized our winery stops to the preferences of our group and each one was a unique experience. We even made a few extra stops for "Kodak moments". He answered any questions we had and gave some valuable tips about visiting San Francisco. I would highly recommend this tour.

Carol S., United States, 04-2009

We really enjoyed the small group we were in and the guide made it a fun adventure for all of us.

Anne H., United States, 03-2009

I enjoyed being in a small group. Our tour guide introduced us to each other as we arrived that made the tour more personable. He was knowledgeable about the area. We were on time at each stop. We were expected and given an excellent tour. My husband and I highly recommend this tour.

Darlene L., United States, 02-2009

Our guide shared an abundance of information on the Sonoma Wine country and the various wineries. He made the extra effort to find out if anyone in the group had any specific requests in choosing the places we were to visit. He also had the good sense to visit Muir Woods first since the forecast was calling for more rain later in the day. He informed us about the history of Muir Woods on the way there. He was a wealth of knowledge throughout the day.

Jerry & Diane R., United States, 02-2009

was a very pleasurable and knowledgeable trip. The guide just made the day. Very, very friendly and knowledgeable.

sheri r., , 10-2008

Tour was great. Muir Woods was a nice start to the day and was fantastic. The winery tastings were excellent and we enjoyed the small wineries and the friendly hospitality during tastings. The stop at Hawk Hill on way way back at sunset topped off an incredible day. Mitch the tour guide was a HOOT. We had a great time and would go on it again!!!

James K., , 09-2008

Muir Woods is amazing. for the Wine Portion, I would of preferred three different types of vineyards versus the two small ones. I was delighted that our Tour Guide did ask for any suggestions and we voiced up for Cline, which was awesome.

Peggy H., , 09-2008

First winery visited gave us a 15-20 minute guide on grapes, wines, wine making and tasting. Very informative and funny. We learned a lot which made our visit to other wineries more enjoyable. Redwoods were awesome....could have spent a whole day there and not seen it all....so serene and peaceful!

Sally F., , 08-2008

Excellent tour guide. Very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. It was overall a very good experience. Seeing the smaller wineries made the experience memorable.

Bruce M., United States, 08-2008

Overall the tour was good. It could have been more organized. Our tour guide Dillon was very nice & helpful.

CONSTANCE G., United States, 08-2008

We absolutely loved our tour! Mitch was fantastic and very knowledgeable. Even though the van was packed, we enjoyed the experience and the people we shared it with. Thanks!

Kira B., United States, 08-2008

I really loved the entire experience. It was the perfect blend of activities. Tim did a great job of giving us information about the sights and the area without it being a constant information barrage. I also liked the freedom of everyone being free to explore Sonoma on their own during lunch rather than all being herded like sheep to lunch together. I also thought Tim did an outstanding job in picking the three wineries we visited. Each had a distinctly different feel to it which made each tasting an interesting, unique experience. All told, it was a great experience and I'd highly recommend it.

Jennifer L., United States, 07-2008

LOVED IT..TOUR LEADER WAS FIRST RATE!!!THANK YOU FOR A LOVELY DAY

richard s., United States, 07-2008

LOVED IT..TOUR LEADER WAS FIRST RATE!!! THANK YOU FOR A LOVELY DAY

richard s., United States, 07-2008

The tour was excellent, exactly what we expected in hindsight I would have liked longer than the hour we had in Muir Woods but that is personal preference.

Joanne S., United Kingdom, 07-2008

We had a great time at each of the vineyards. The first we visited provided a great deal of information and education on how to read labels, differences in oak grain and alcohol content of the wine. It was a great set-up for the rest of our adventure, in which all was amazing. I will never forget the smell of the redwoods, magnificent!

Rink R., United States, 06-2008

The tour was very pleasant and was exactly as described in the brochure. The wineries offered a large variety of tasting. Everyone was very nice and I would recommend this trip.

Pat L., United States, 05-2008

Our Tour Guide, Tim, was very knowledgeable and friendly. He has a great sense of humor and made our trip very memorable. I like the fact that we had some flexibility as to going to the wine country first then to Muir Woods. That was Tim's suggestion and it worked out well because the woods weren't crowded at all so we got to enjoy them without too many other tourists. I also liked the diversity of wineries he took us to, but Paradise Ridge was the BEST!!

Lora A., United States, 04-2008

Our tour guide, Jon, was AWESOME!!! He made the whole day so much more interesting. The winery tours were fun and informative. Learned so much more than had we gone on our own. Thanks for a wonderful day!

Patrick W., United States, 04-2008

What a wonderful day. The redwood forest was fabulous and getting there first thing in the morning gave us some time to wander before other groups arrived and the school kids arrived. Also enjoyed the wine tasting. The small family wineries we went to were very personal and informative. A great day! Loved the stop at the Golden Gate Bridge lookout as it was a clear day!

Roberta H., United States, 04-2008

We had a blast on this tour! Our guide was great and the activities exceeded our expectations!

Lea S., United States, 03-2008

The tour was great, the driver was wonderful. A little pricey for what you get, but if convenience is worth it to you, then it's perfect.

Kara c., United States, 10-2007

GREAT EXPERIENCE. MUIR WOODS ARE GREAT, BUT WEAR WARM CLOTHS AND WALKING SHIOES. ROBLEDO AND HOMEWOOD WINERY'S WERE GREAT. VERY FRIENDLY AND PERSONAL. CASTLE WAS LESS FRIENDLY AND THE WINE WAS NOT AS GOOD. OVERALL A MUST DO EXPERIENCE.

Sharon K., United States, 10-2007

The tour was as advertised. The guide was knowledgeable, helpful, and courteous. My wife and I enjoyed the experience.

Chris T., United States, 10-2007

We really enjoyed the Muir Wood tour but the wine tours did not impress us - all were small companies with not a lot of different types of wines to offer to try - would have preferred at least one bigger winery so there would be a better variety for different types of palates. There were really no sweet wines. My husband and I prefer sweet wines and we were not able to purchase any to bring home since none of the places we visited hand any type of dessert wines. Very disappointed for a California tour.

Cheryl E., United States, 09-2007

Exceptional sightseeing. Superb visit to Muir Woods. The wine tour was well worth while even though the cost of shipping back to UK was rather costly. It was an experience that everyone will enjoy.

Bryan C., United Kingdom, 09-2007

This tour was wonderful because it was very non-commercialized. We never saw other tours at any of the small wineries that we visited.

Eric M., United States, 08-2007

The tour and tour guide were fun and well-planned.

Emily M., United States, 08-2007

Booked online from Australia and had no problems with any part of the tour Thanks

Ron M., Australia, 07-2007

Great driver, alot of fun. Enjoyed the experience, great way to travel and see the sites.

kelly h., United States, 06-2007

We had a wonderful time touring Muir Woods and the Sonoma wine country. Walking through the redwood forest was awe inspiring. We also enjoyed the scenic drive through the California countryside. And the wine tastings at several Sonoma wineries were both educational and delicious. The tour was one of the highlights of our trip to San Francisco.

Judith S., United States, 06-2007

Very casual style suitable for inexperienced wine tasters. The third stop was a delightful outlook with tasting charges not included in the price. Muir Woods are great, could stay there longer. The stops by the bridge and bay are pure whistle-stop photo opportunities

James H., Australia, 05-2007

We enjoyed the amount of time given at Muir Woods. We had more then enough time to see all we wanted to see. The wine tour part was fun and light hearted making for a very enjoyable day.

Marilyn P., Canada, 04-2007

This tour was wonderful. Being in a 13 passenger van verses the large bus was so nice. The guide was so friendly and knowledgeable . Being in a small group he was able to stop places that were not listed if someone asked. He took us to wineries that we would have never found our self. I would go on this tour again If I was in the area during harvest time.

Janice A., United States, 04-2007

Muir Woods was beautiful. wine tour was great and I liked the small winery, very quaint and one family owned. The van we were on was full to capacity and sitting arrangements luckily were ok with a good group of folks on our tour. I did not always sit with my friend who traveled with me. We changed up seats in order for everyone to get a chance to sit where they wanted.

Lou N., , 03-2007

Enjoyed the tour and the group we were with. As a person who had never been to the wine country, I would have enjoyed seeing at least one of the bigger winery operations instead of seeing three smaller, "mom and pop" type places. I also believed we would be actually touring the wineries along with the tastings, but we did not -- this was purely a tasting tour as far as the wineries went. I really enjoyed the time in Muir Woods and the time we were alloted was perfect to see the site. The three wineries we were able to see were carefully chosen by our guide in accordance with the palates of our group. The day was just long enough, and full of activity, and we thought the money we spent was well worth it. We were also able to purchase wine along the way which our friends and family enjoyed when we returned from the trip.

Jenna J., United States, 03-2007

Our tour guide was great, friendly and helpful. We voted during the tour to change the planned excursion just a little bit because the day of our tour there was a special event planned in a town we were stopping for lunch in. Everyone had a great time, and the tour guide made a special stop so we could get some great pictures of the Bay.

Travis M., United States, 03-2007

The combination of the Muir woods and wine tasting is a blast. This tour was much easier to keep up with than others around the same area and allowed individual input into the tours course. Other tours around the same area seemed to keep its guests on a vehicle more often than it allowed exploration. The adventure here made the trip exceptionally fun.

Tim C., United States, 02-2007

I had a lot of fun on the Muir Woods/Sonoma Valley tour. Tour guide was very and informative and talked about a lot of interesting trivia about all of the places we went to. I would definitely go on this tour again.
